After litigating hundreds of cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to homicides, I can honestly say that I love what I do. My heart lies in criminal defense work. Through hard work, I’ve earned the respect of the legal community here in Arizona. I’ve worked with hundreds of attorneys and appeared before numerous judges in city, state, and federal courts. Although most of my criminal practice is in state courts, about 30% is federal criminal defense. I’ve dedicated my legal career to helping those who struggle most. I first became a prosecutor because I wanted to protect the vulnerable and, in the naiveté of youth, thought that was the place to do it. But I soon learned better. After leaving a major crimes division of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, I worked in a large law firm. It was a great experience but extraordinarily high overhead shouldn’t preclude access to quality private defense. And so The Heath Law Firm, PLLC was born.
