Charles Frederick Magill

Charles Magill, the firm's president, began practicing law in Fresno in 1989. For the past 22 years Mr. Magill has defended private individuals, not the government. He has conducted over 150 jury and court trials in State and Federal courts. Charles is well-known as a tenaciously fierce, creative, and knowledgeable trial attorney. He thinks out of the box which has led to his successful reputation in the Valley.


Charles regularly acts as a legal analyst for all local television, radio, and print media outlets. His relationship with local media has served his clients well when they find themselves in the middle of a high-profile firestorm.
Laura M. Guzman Magill, the firm's vice-president, began practicing law in Fresno in 1997. Laura Magill started her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's office where she was successful in her first two jury trials as a law clerk.


She later worked for the Fresno County District Attorney's Office in the misdemeanor and juvenile dependency units. Laura Magill went into private practice in 1999 shortly after which she represented one of 12 defendants in Fresno County's largest and longest jury trial, where her client was the only defendant not convicted of 60+ felony sex charges.


Since then, Laura Magill merged practices with her husband, Charles Magill, where they have served their clients best as a team and a force to be reckoned with- Professional football player's PC 148 (resisting arrest) charge dismissed after negotiating the case through DA's original position/file notes that 'this case is high profile, no deals no offers.


Her clients include children as young as 6 years old facing suspension, expulsion and involuntary transfer and related juvenile delinquency charges.


Working as a team, Charles and Laura Magill represent juveniles and adults, from traffic infractions to all crimes, state and federal, in all California courts. They also represent professionals when state administrative agencies seek revocation and DUI offenders at the driver's license suspension hearings (Department of Motor Vehicles Admin Per Se hearings).
