Jennifer practices exclusively in the areas of tax and business. She has assisted thousands of clients with offers in compromise and audits with the both the IRS and most of the fifty states, including Alaska and Hawaii. She is also outside counsel to numerous corporate clients. Jennifer’s extensive business practice includes new business formation, the purchase and sale of existing businesses, mergers and acquisitions, tax-free divisions and reorganizations, strategic and succession planning, contract negotiations, employment agreements, corporate compliance, private placement securities offerings, and trademark and copyright filings. Jennifer also assists clients in selling companies through brokers and to private equity firms. Jennifer’s tax practice includes civil and criminal tax controversy and tax planning for businesses and individuals. Jennifer advises clients on the tax consequences of various business transactions, such as joint ventures, real estate development, and tax planning in the business structure of an organization, with substantial experience working through tax issues for partnerships, limited liability companies, and S corporations. Through her tax practice, Jennifer also addresses the vast scope of federal, state and local tax controversies that individuals and businesses may confront, such as audits, collection matters including offers in compromise, tax liens and levies, and criminal tax investigations. Jennifer’s education includes a law degree from Salmon P. Chase and a Masters in Tax from the University of Cincinnati. Jennifer practiced with Martin Horwitz at The Horwitz Law Firm until his passing in 2009. She has served as an adjunct professor in the Political Science Department of Northern Kentucky University, a member of the Ford Motor Co. Arbitration Board, and a member of No KY’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. She is is licensed to practice in various federal courts including U.S. Tax Court.
