Thomas B. Stahl is one of the founding partners of Spencer & Stahl, P.C.

Prior to the formation of the firm, he was an associate with Silverstein & Ostovitz, LLC from 2009 to 2015, where his work involved domestic matters, including, divorce, custody, and child support. He also worked on guardianship matters.

Thomas was the Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Timothy J. McCrone of the Circuit Court for Howard County from 2008 until 2009. While serving as Judge McCrone’s law clerk, he assisted the Honorable Dennis M. Sweeney (Retired) on the trial of former Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon.

Thomas graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2008. While in law school, he competed on the Moot Court Team, interned in the Office of Chief Counsel, Department of Homeland Security, and served as the President of the Moot Court Board. While President of the Moot Court Board he increased student participation in the annual Moot Court Competition from 42 students in 2007 to 172 students in 2008. He earned one of four Dean’s Citation for Service in 2008.

He was an Adjunct at the University of Baltimore and Co-Coach Moot Court Team from 2008 to 2014. He was also a member of the James Macgill American Inn of Court from 2010 to 2013. In 2012, he completed the Advanced Program sponsored by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Mr. Stahl currently serves on the Maryland State Bar Association Board of Governors, the Maryland State Bar Association Rules of Practice Committee, and is a MSBA liaison to the Court of Appeals Rules Committee. He is also one of the Maryland Delegates to the American Bar Association House of Delegates for 2018-2020. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Howard County Bar Association in May 2011. He served as Secretary for 2012-2013, as Treasurer for 2013-2014, as President-Elect for 2014-2015, and as President for 2015-2016.

Serve as court-appointed guardian of the property, guardian of the person, independent investigator, and counsel for the alleged disabled in guardianship matters.
