Douglas Kans is criminal defense attorney that focuses on the representation of individuals charged with DWI and other alcohol related offenses. He has achieved great success throughout his 18 plus years of practicing criminal defense in Minneapolis and the surrounding areas. Throughout his years of defending clients throughout the state of Minnesota, Mr. Kans has litigated numerous issues relating to alcohol related offenses. He has also successfully achieved a reversal at the Minnesota Court of Appeals on a repeat offender case. The most common issues with regard to DUI cases in Minnesota are whether the traffic stop was illegal, probable cause to arrest, right to counsel, whether right to independent testing was vindicated and the reliability of the particular chemical test utilized by the government.

In addition to DWI related offenses, Mr. Kans has also successfully represented individuals charge with a variety of other crimes such as assault, theft, white collar crimes, drug crimes of all levels, criminal vehicular homicide, manslaughter and various sex crimes.
