According to the laws of Nevada, the illegal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit in Nevada is:
• 0.02% for drivers under 21 years of age
• 0.04% for commercial license holders
• 0.08% for everyone else

First Conviction Penalties
• Revocation of driver’s license for 90 days. You may apply for a restricted license after 45 days.
• Jail of up to 2 days up to 6 months or 96 hours of community service.
• Fine of at least $400 up to $1000
• Mandatory DUI school attendance
• A possible order to attend a substance- abuse treatment program

In addition, if you are charged with DUI offense in Nevada, the Department of Motor Vehicles will report the incident back to the government agency in your state. Some of these actions are :
• Some states will take action after the DMV reports the incident.
• Other states will only take action if you are charged of criminal conviction
• In some states, they will only take action if their DUI statutes is the same or similar to Nevada DUI laws.

Will I need to return to Las Vegas for the court date?
In most cases, no. Most first and second DUI charges are misdemeanors. Unless it’s a felony DUI, your criminal defense attorney may appear in court on your behalf. You may only need to return to Las Vegas if the DUI case proceeds to jury trial.

If my driver’s license get suspended in Las Vegas, will it affect my driving status in my home state?
The state of Nevada lacks jurisdiction to suspend driver’s license from other states. However, your DUI case will be reported by the DMV to your home town. By virtue among states called the interstate compact, your home state may honor the suspension from Nevada.
