Sonya Tien is a strategic litigation, corporate and IP attorney. She was recognized as a Rising Star in Super Lawyers 2020 and her articles have been published by the Wall Street Lawyer and Practising Law Institute.

Before founding Tien Law Firm, Ms. Tien practiced law at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson with a focus on corporate transactions, corporate compliance, SEC & DOJ enforcement, real estate, and commercial litigation, where she assisted in representing a variety of real estate and bank clients, such as Bank of America, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Barclays, Oppenheimer, CBRE, and Tishman Speyer.

Ms. Tien received her law degree from Columbia University, and was recognized as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Ms. Tien received her business degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenan Flagler Business School, and earned seventeen undergraduate scholarships.

Ms. Tien leads the litigation and corporate practice, to advise clients across various industries, boards of directions, and financial institutions on a wide range of corporate and securities matters, including merger and acquisitions, corporate governance, IP transactions, and joint ventures.
