Lawrence Land - Your Lawyer for Life! I have been practicing law for more than 35 years. I have a passion for helping people, which prompted me to pursue a career as a lawyer. I graduated with a Psychology major and Human Relations minor from the University of Miami. I then earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at the University of Richmond in 1975. As part of my law school curriculum, I also took courses at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England. You can call me a true “homegrown” Virginia lawyer. I reside in Virginia with my wife of 25 years and four children – 18-year-old daughter, 16-year-old son and twin 10-year-old girls. The ties that I have to Virginia are strong. In 1976, I opened my law office and have since been involved with more than 25,000 personal injury cases. I continue to help injured people and their families from all walks of life. My office is in the World Trade Center in Norfolk, Virginia. However, I practice everywhere in Virginia. "I will travel from Maine to Spain to see clients, if they have been hurt in an accident and I can help." “I tell all of my clients that if you need me for anything, you can call me and I will be there for you.” Anyone can call me for free and get the best results. You do not have to pay any money out of pocket to hire me. Lawrence has been recognized in The Virginian-Pilot newspaper and has authored the book, 5 Deadly Sins That Can Destroy Your Injury Claim, which is a must-read for any accident victim. When I am not hard at work, I am generally spending quality time with my family. My wife and I take our children on trips to Disney World, which I like to describe as non-stop fun, and to sporting events. I am also an avid athlete and enjoy every sport – football, basketball, baseball, tennis, hockey, NASCAR, and everything else. To schedule your free consultation with Lawrence call 800-800-1911

You've been involved in a hit-and-run accident. Someone refused to take responsibility but what they did do is they took off. You're hurt. You didn't have time to get their license number. It happened very quickly and now you're thinking now what am I going to do? My car is damaged. I don't have collision coverage. So, what am I going to do?

Well the first thing you should do is go to a hospital but understand and feel comfortable in knowing that your insurance company will pay for and compensate you for all your medical bills, will pay for all the pain and suffering present, past and future, any future surgery and of course one of the things that you are thinking about is your vehicle. What are you going to do? Well the good news is even though you don't have collision coverage on your policy your policy will pay for your car for the value of your car or repair your car under what is called the uninsured motorists portion of the policy.

Even though there is a very small deductible like $200.00 or maybe $250.00 your car can be repaired or they will have to pay you for the full value of your car; again, even though you don't have collision coverage. Don't try to do this on your own. The insurance company will double talk you and triple talk you and the first thing they are going to say is, "Well I'm sorry you didn't have collision coverage." Well no you didn't but you can still receive money under your own policy and if you are not at fault in the accident your premiums will not increase. Your premiums will not increase.

Let us find the insurance for you because even if you're not insured or you don't think you're insured you would be amazed at how we can find the insurance to pay for your vehicle and to pay for your injuries. Don't try to do this on your own.

What are the five most important things you should and shouldn't do if you've been injured because of some type of an accident?

First of all: Go to an emergency room. Don't think for a moment that you aren't hurt. Maybe you aren't. But you should not be making that decision independently. Go to an emergency room, or a patient first, or one of those places. Don't wait.

Number 2: Do not talk to an insurance company. Most of the people will tell you; "Oh the first thing you got to do is call your insurance company". I'm telling you that is the last thing that you want to do. You should not call your insurance company and do not call the insurance company of the person who is at-fault.

Number 3: Get off of your social media. Do not text people with what happened. Do not go online and tell people what happened. Stay off of social media. So often people think: "Well it won't hurt to say this or text that." Very often whatever comments you make can come back to haunt you.You should call an experienced attorney, an experienced personal injury attorney, to get advice. If you don't know an experienced personal injury attorney, call me.

I'm Lawrence Land, as I told you before I've been helping people throughout Virginia for 36 years. Call me for free legal advice. 1-800-800-1911

Have you or a loved one been injured or killed by a tractor trailer on the Eastern Shore? Rt. 13 on the Eastern Shore has numerous accidents and deaths due to the high speed limit and the numerous side roads that feed into Route 13, also known as Lankford Highway.

Hi folks. I'm Lawrence Land, the injury lawyer. I help people who are injured everywhere in Virginia. We'll travel from Maine to Spain to help you if we need to. You've got questions? I've got answers. You've got a problem? I'll solve it. If you have any unanswered questions after this video, this very short video, call me for free legal advice at 1-800-800-1911.

So, you have been involved in a tractor trailer accident or some other type of commercial vehicle. So, let me tell you what is going on out here. These tractor trailer drivers are driving for a much longer period of time than their supposed to be driving and what's happening is they're falling asleep.

So, you're stopped at a stoplight or you're coming from one direction and the tractor trailer comes from the other direction and that tractor trailer collides with you. Well, guess who wins? That's right so when you are talking about these tractor trailers that are fully loaded and at 72,000 pounds of equipment that hit your vehicle. You are going to have some pretty serious injuries. So, unfortunately these folks are careless and they need to make sure that they are much more careful but they don't.

This is just part of what happens in the trucking industry. I'm very sad to report this but this is what happens every single day and I am sick and tired of it. So, if you've been injured in an accident don't contact the insurance company for the tractor trailer or commercial vehicle. I'm going to tell you that, that is the biggest run around. I can't tell you how often they have not been honest with me. It's frustrating. They are going to tell you that the vehicle isn't insured or they don't cover that individual or that person didn't have permission, you are going to hear everything.

Don't talk to these folks. Don't try to do this on your own. Most of the time what we find is that even after hiring us as attorneys and after we obtain our attorneys fee you are still going to end up with a lot more then what you would've if you tried to handle the case on your own even after attorneys fees. So, keep that in mind. My grandmother used to say, "Don't penny rich and pale and foolish." You may have heard that before. So, don't think you're saving money by not hiring a lawyer, particularly in these tractor trailer/commercial vehicle cases.
