Meet Allen & Allen attorney Ashley Davis and hear why she decided to make the transition from working for large corporations and insurance companies to helping injured persons.
Transcript- My name is Ashley Davis, and I am an attorney with Allen and Allen. For many years I represented large corporations and insurance companies, and it was my job to make sure that they did not pay claims. And if they did have to pay, it was my job to make sure that they paid as little as possible. Over the years I met a lot of people who were injured… I can’t count the number of family members that I have met who have lost a loved one. And in every one of those cases it was my job to sit across the table and to keep them from getting the compensation that they deserved, and over time, it became very difficult for me to do that. And I realized that rather than work for the insurance companies, I wanted to work for people, who needed help, and to make a difference in their lives.
My role at Allen and Allen is a little different because I don’t handle individual cases. My job is to help each and every one of our clients, because I spent so many years working for defendants and for insurance companies I understand the legal arguments that they raise in cases. I understand their strategies; I understand how they make decisions. And so my job is to anticipate the legal defenses that they are going to raise in a case, and to respond to those arguments.
The reality is that large corporations and insurance companies have teams of attorneys that are working for them, and their entire job is to protect the companies’ bottom line. For many people who are injured, this is their very first time in the legal system, and if they do not have the experience and attorneys who are helping them through that process they are at a tremendous disadvantage in the legal system. We’re Allen and Allen, call us.
