A custody trial is difficult for both parents and children. You will have to honestly discuss your ex's weaknesses and downfalls. Your spouse will do the same to you. This can cause hurt feelings and make it very difficult to co-parent after the divorce. Although you will try to shield your child from the trial, he or she will know that the trial is causing you stress. The child may feel pressure to choose between parents.
