Work in the capacity of a senior litigation associate in all phases of litigation. Duties include drafting pleadings and briefs and orally arguing motions in both state and federal courts. Conduct discovery including depositions of fact and expert witnesses. Trial experience includes first and second chair experience in “deliberate intention” and strict liability actions in both state and federal court.

Conducted quasi-judicial hearings and wrote formal decisions on complex cases arising under regulatory responsibility of the agency. Responsible for ensuring litigants are afforded due process through the proper scheduling of hearings, conducting hearings, controlling the making of a record, conducting necessary legal research and rendering decisions based on findings of fact and conclusions of law. Issued over fifty (50) written opinions published through the State Register and available on Westlawnext.

West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals
Drafted court orders for civil actions, criminal cases, administrative appeals and family court appeals. Assisted the Judge in the analysis of legal issues, including the drafting of bench memos. Conducted all scheduling conferences. Compiled and integrated jury instructions. Assisted in the creation of CLE materials for a seminar on W.V.R.E. 404(b).
